Welcome
A huge welcome from the Mill Strand Y4 team!We are looking forward to working with your child over the coming year, we have a great team with lots of expertise and a passion for Teaching & Learning, both inside and outside the classroom. Term one will be very different from previous years with an increased focus on a Child Centred Approach to learning using the SWAN method; 'S' for Safety-We make better decisions when we feel physically & emotionally safe and our brains work better. 'W' for Welcoming-We will do our utmost to welcome your child, we will be happy to see each and every one of them & understand they may have anxieties. 'A' for Altogether- We're a team in class, a team in school and indeed a team of parents & school working together. We will support each other. 'N' stands for Nurture-We will aim to create an environment where we can all thrive, building resilience and readiness to return to formal learning with our pupils at the centre of this!
Thank you for your support, Deirdre Doherty, Scott Cooper & Roberta Coyles |
We spend a portion of each week learning outdoors with clearly planned activities linked to and embedded in our statutory KS1 curriculum
